We are a Cultural Association established in 2020 and registered with the Spanish Ministry of Interior under the number 622473.
Why “Wandering Monks?” Wandering Monks is an oxymoron, and yet a concept that identifies us.
Wandering is the nomadic person, the ones who journeys from one place to another. In other words, a
pilgrim.
Monks are people who have taken vows to live in a place of stability (the commitment to live in a monastic community for life) and who wish to live a simple life, in contact with nature and spirituality.
We believe that these two concepts represent very well who we are and who we desire to be: a community of people committed to a place, who at the same time carry with ourselves a background of pilgrimage, and for that reason can understand and help those who approach us.
According to our Statutes, the Association’s aims are:
- To foster the spiritual development of all people, and in particular, of pilgrims on the
Camino de Santiago, through encounters, nature, art, and spiritual direction with a Christian perspective. - To promote historical and cultural values of the Camino de Santiago, such as hospitality, generosity, pilgrimage, reflection, contemplation, diversity, connection and the appreciation of beauty.
- To collaborate with the protection and defense of our cultural, environmental, and historical heritage in our surroundings.
- To establish relationships with other entities with similar goals and characteristics, inside and outside of Spain.
